Gifts to Your Character
It’s a birthday party for the main character in your book. You have to take three presents, what are you going to get them? From reading the book what do they seem to need?
Directions:

Find a realistic fiction book that that interests you and is at an appropriate reading level for you. Have you book approved by your teacher.

Think back to the movie The Wizard of Oz. The wizard gives each character a gift they need to be better in this world. What does your character need to be more successful, stronger, or better in you book? If you could give them three gifts, things they actually need and don’t already have, what would you choose?

Now it is time to create your gifts. If you are giving something that “cannot be touched” like courage, what would you make to represent courage? Each gift that you create need to be at least “hand” sized.

Attached to each non-wrapped gift you are going to attach a gift tag. The gift tag is going to explain to your character why you got them this gift. Explanations need to be at least three well written sentences. This means you need to have nine or more sentences for the whole
