Homework

Studies show that parental involvement in a child’s education is one of the strongest indicators of student achievement.
Homework is an important part of the educational process. It is the continuation of what was discussed and practiced in class. Expect your child to spend at least 30 minutes or more per night on homework. You should continue the routine established in previous grades by allocating a quiet place in the house for study. Homework is your child’s responsibility. Assignments will be placed on the board each day for your child to copy into his/her assignment book. Students should make every attempt to complete their assignments. There will be consequences for consistent, incomplete homework assignments.
In previous grades, most teachers required the students to have their parents sign or initial their planner every night. My goal is to help students develop a greater level of independence this year. I will provide a daily homework planner for your child. It is their responsibility to copy and complete the assignments. If you feel that you child is not completing his/her homework we can set up a plan to have both you and I initial the planner.
